MATH Pontiac High School Pre-Work Math Course Syllabus 2017-2018 Course Teacher: Mr. Timm Classroom: Rm. 121 Email: ktimm@wqsb.qc.ca Overview: Mathematics is used in everyday situations at school, at home and at work. The goal of this course is to develop the mathematical skills required in daily life. By the end of the Pre-Work program, students will not only have learned key mathematical skills but will also have applied them in real life situations through their work placements. Topics: Topics that will be covered in this course includes: ● Arithmetic: Unit conversions, money, number and operation sense ● Statistics and probability: diagrams and tables, situational problems, data analysis ● Geometry: Measurement, two and three dimensional objects, graphing, length, area, volume Course Evaluation:
